CGN Energy International Holdings Co., Limited (CGNEI) was established on November 21, 2017. It is CGN’s sole global platform for overseas clean energy development, investment and asset management.

CGNEI’s clean energy projects are widespread across 16 countries. It has formed up a number of high-quality regional profit centers and development platforms, and has a certain market share in Southeast Asia, Egypt, Bangladesh, France, South Korea, Brazil and other countries and regions.

CGNEI has initially formed the development layout of “One Horizontal and Two Verticals” in the world. “One Horizontal” means to take root in Malaysia, extending to the “Belt &Road” countries “horizontally”, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. “Two Verticals” refers to take root in France and Brazil respectively, gradually radiating from Europe to Africa and South America to North America, and forming two “vertical” clean energy development belts.

As of the end of March 2025, CGNEI has controlling stakes in 47 projects and holds non-controlling interests in 2 projects, with a total controlling installed capacity of 13.03GW.

Based on and relying on local communities, CGNEI has been actively fulfilling its social responsibilities and striving to be an authentic local company. CGNEI has provided more than 1,500 jobs in Malaysia, France, Brazil, Egypt, Bangladesh and other countries; and actively promoted local community development through the establishment of scholarships, bursaries, financial support and in-kind donations, etc., participated in and supported local culture, education, medical and sports endeavors.
