CGN Energy International Holdings Co., Limited (CGNEI) was established on November 21, 2017. It is a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corporation ("CGN") and is positioned as CGN's entity of overseas clean energy projects.
Since its inception, CGNEI actively advancing the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative. With its mission of "developing clean energy to benefit mankind", CGNEI consistently fosters international cooperation in the field of clean energy. After years of development, CGNEI now manages clean energy spread across 18 overseas countries and has established a diversified green asset portfolio primarily consisting of gas-fired power generation, wind power, and solar power generation. Additionally, CGNEI has set up multiple overseas regional centers and development platforms.
CGNEI has initially formed the development layout of "One Horizontal and Two Verticals" worldwide. "One Horizontal" means establishing a strong presence in Malaysia and then extending "horizontally" to Laos, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. "Two Verticals" refers to establishing roots in France and Brazil respectively, gradually expanding "vertically" from Europe to Africa and South America to North America, thus forming two "vertical" clean energy development belts.
As of now, CGNEI’s total installed capacity in operation and under construction is nearly 12.5GW, including over 11.5GW in operation and nearly 9GW under construction.
