The aftermath of Typhoon Capricorn has caused significant devastation in Louang Namtha and Oudomxay provinces in northern Laos, posing a serious threat to the safety of lives and property. CGN Energy Technology (Laos) actively fulfilled its social responsibility by urgently purchasing and donating supplies to the disaster-stricken areas, thereby assisting in flood relief efforts.

After the disaster, CGN Energy Technology (Laos) launched the “Shimmer Plan” to quickly assess the needs of the affected regions. The company rapidly procured bread, canned goods, and essential daily necessities to alleviate shortages in these areas. Due to road blockages, the company coordinated transportation resources to deliver these supplies to Louang Namtha free of charge via the China-Laos railway. The supplies were received by the government of Louang Namtha Province, which will distribute the relief items primarily to support Louang Namtha, where the Laos Northern Base Project Phase II is located and assist those impacted by the disaster in overcoming their challenges.

The “Shimmer Plan” is a community development initiative created by the company in the local area and operates as a sub-brand under the party building initiative of the Laotian Party Branch, "Lancang Mekong Lights." While developing and constructing clean energy projects in Laos, the company has actively engaged with the local community, responding to the needs of both the local government and residents. Through a series of "small yet smart" actions that benefit livelihoods, the company promotes the sustainable development of infrastructure, production, daily life, education, culture, and health in the project area, effectively sharing the project's development achievements with the local population.
