  • On November 21, coinciding with the 8th anniversary of CGNEI, an international cultural bazaar opened vibrantly on the first floor of CGN Building Under the theme of openness, the event invited the world to CGN, building bridges of understanding through cultural exchange. Featuring diverse cultural elements from Malaysia, South Korea, France, Brazil, Laos and South Africa, the bazaar enabled Chinese and international employees to enhance mutual understanding and trust through immersive interactions. In this compact yet lively bazaar, participants experienced global cultures, looked back on the company’s eight years of growth, and shared the joy and pride of the anniversary—sending warm birthday wishes to the company through a multicultural celebration.

A specially designed “boarding pass” and a personalized “bazaar passport” guided visitors on a six-country cultural journey unique to CGNEI. Through interactive games, delicacies, and craft experiences, the principles of “extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits” under the Belt and Road Initiative were transformed into tangible and heartfelt encounters.

Interactive Games: Experiencing Global Cultures Through Play

Laughter filled the game zone throughout the event. The Brazilian booth featured a football nine-grid challenge where each accurate shot won applause. The Laotian “Rattan Ball Toss” tested participants’ precision and became a crowd favorite. Korea’s traditional Yut Nori attracted many players into friendly competition. South Africa’s “Animal Guessing” combined fun with wildlife knowledge. Malaysia’s “Guess the Spice” and France’s “French Word Quiz” showcased the richness of Southeast Asian culinary culture and the charm of the French language.

Craft Workshops: Cultural Skills at Your Fingertips

The craft zone served as a vivid classroom of cultural exchange. At the Laotian booth, international employees demonstrated traditional weaving techniques and color matching. Brazilian carnival mask crafting and South African beading also attracted enthusiastic participation. The Malaysian booth offered traditional Nyonya Kebaya dress try-ons, allowing employees to take photos in Kebaya attire and gain a deeper appreciation of cultural diversity through hands-on experience.

Global Flavors: A Belt and Road Culinary Journey

The aroma of food filled the air, making the food zone the most popular stop of the event. Laotian rice noodles, made from high-quality local fragrant rice, became the “star dish,” drawing long queues throughout the day. Malaysia’s nasi lemak and hand-pulled milk tea highlighted Southeast Asian flavors; Brazilian barbecue paired with fresh açaí bowls; Korean kimchi pancakes and Budae Jjigae; French macarons and baguettes; South African sausage and rooibos tea—each dish offered a delightful taste experience, connecting palates across borders.

Eight Years of Shared Journey, Grateful for Your Companionship; New Silk Road, Lighting the World! This multicultural celebration was not only a warm tribute to the company’s first eight years but also a resonant call toward the new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan. CGNEI will continue to advance along the path of internationalization and contribute to CGN’s goal of building a world-class clean energy group.
