A Global Celebration: CGN Energy International Teams Unite to Welcome the Year of the Horse
As the Year of the Horse begins, the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year has reached all global offices of CGN Energy International (CGNEI). Following the concept of "Harmony in Diversity," our Chinese and local employees celebrated together, blending traditional customs with local cultures to strengthen teamwork and friendship.
Edra Power Holdings (EPH)
In Malaysia, as the festive atmosphere grew, employees from Malaysia, Egypt, and Bangladesh gathered to participate in a unique local custom—"Loh Hei" (Yeesang).
As a national cultural heritage of Malaysia, "Loh Hei" carries the cultural memory of the local community and symbolizes CGNEI’s commitment to rooting itself in the regions where it operates. Surrounded by cheers, employees gathered around tables to toss colorful ingredients high into the air with their chopsticks. With every rhythmic toss, they shouted blessings like "Success at every step" and "Great fortune." This vibrant celebration allowed employees from different backgrounds to find emotional resonance, turning a traditional folk custom into a powerful bond of team unity.

CGN Europe Energy (CGNEE)
Following its annual meeting, CGNEE organized a series of immersive New Year activities. The venue was decorated with traditional red lanterns, creating a warm "Chinese Red" atmosphere that captivated local European staff.

The event featured a journey through Chinese heritage. Employees handcrafted Traditional Chinese Medicine sachets, experiencing the delicate beauty of intangible cultural heritage. Playful activities such as the "Catch the Horse" game and the "Lucky Wheel" brought surprises and laughter, while teaching the team about the Chinese zodiac. By writing New Year messages to one another, Chinese and foreign colleagues built a bridge of mutual understanding, letting the warmth of the festival strengthen their shared commitment to the journey ahead.

CGN Brazil Energia (CGNBE)
In Brazil, the company hosted a unique workshop where the Chinese Spring Festival met the Brazilian Carnival. The scene was a kaleidoscope of Brazilian Frevo umbrellas and Chinese red lanterns.

The "Calligraphy Zone" was a highlight, where Brazilian employees carefully practiced writing the character "Fu" (Good Fortune) for the first time. In the "Creative Painting Zone," the team painted horses that combined Brazilian passion with Chinese auspiciousness. From the elegance of ink and brushes to the energy of Carnival masks, this cultural "encounter" allowed employees to immerse themselves in each other's traditions, building a "heart-to-heart" connection between the two nations.

CGN Laos Energy (CGNEL)
Project site, the spirit of the Lancang-Mekong friendship was on full display. Chinese and Lao employees worked side-by-side to decorate the site with red couplets and lanterns, bringing a festive "Chinese Red" to the project field.

The canteen was filled with warmth during the "Dumpling Workshop." Chinese staff demonstrated traditional techniques—kneading dough, rolling wrappers, and folding the pleats—while Lao colleagues eagerly joined in. When the steaming dumplings were served, the team shared more than just a delicious meal; they shared a sense of belonging that transcends borders. This collaboration in the kitchen mirrored their partnership in the field, paving the way for high-quality project development.

CGN Africa Energy
In Africa, Chinese and local employees welcomed the Year of the Horse with ink, paper, and laughter. From paper-cutting to dumpling making, the activities allowed everyone to experience the hands-on charm of the Lunar New Year.

The most energetic segment was the "Idiom Red Packet" challenge. Employees engaged in a fun Q&A session about horse-related idioms, such as "Ma Dao Cheng Gong" (Success upon arrival) and "Long Ma Jing Shen" (Vitality and spirit). These interactions helped local staff understand the themes of progress and perseverance embedded in Chinese culture. As they shared the blessings of the season, the team’s mutual trust and understanding grew, creating a warm and unified atmosphere to start the new year.
