Year of China-Laos Friendship: CGN Completes "Energy + Education" Project at Muang Xay High School
On March 11, local time, during the "Year of China-Laos Friendship," a ceremony was held in Oudomxay Province for the completion and handover of the Muang Xai High School construction and renovation project. As a key livelihood initiative supporting CGNEL Phase I Project, this ceremony marks a practical step by CGN in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and supporting Laotian education under the framework of China-Laos traditional friendship.

This project is a significant practice of the "CGN Shimmer Plan" in the field of educational assistance. Guided by the principle of "extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits," the project team adhered to high standards to ensure sustainability and community benefit.

Beyond renovating school buildings and upgrading facilities, the project innovatively integrated photovoltaic glass applications. This deep integration of clean energy and green campus construction not only reduces the school's electricity costs but also introduces the concept of renewable energy into the classroom, planting the seeds of sustainable development for Laotian youth.
Principal of Muang Xai High School stated that the solar-integrated design effectively reduced the school’s operational burden and cultivated a "green development" mindset among teachers and students. The school is committed to improving educational quality while carrying forward the traditional friendship between the two nations.

Mr. Jia Xianyu, Chairman of CGNEL, emphasized CGN’s philosophy: "Build a project, establish an enterprise, and benefit the local community." He noted that CGN will use the Northern Laos Clean Energy Base as a bridge to promote both power infrastructure and people-to-heart bonds, continuing to empower local development through clean energy.

Vice Governor of Oudomxay Province remarked that the "Energy + Education" model creates a dual value for both industry and livelihood. He expressed a desire to deepen cooperation with CGN in more fields to achieve mutual benefits and common development.

As the core carrier of this initiative, the CGNEL Phase I Project is the first large-scale solar project in Laos and a critical supporting power source for China-Laos power interconnection. Successfully grid-connected on December 13, 2025, the project has already created over a thousand local jobs. By introducing Chinese technology, standards, and experience, CGN is helping Laos transform its natural resource advantages into economic and green advantages, driving the upgrade of the local clean energy industry chain.
