  • At 9:26 AM Beijing time on May 6, the first key milestone of the Daesan Phase II project of CGN Energy International's South Korean subsidiary — the first ignition of the gas turbine — was successfully completed, marking the project's transition from the cold commissioning phase to the hot commissioning phase.

The Daesan Phase II project in South Korea is the first large-scale gas-fired power project of CGN Energy International to adopt an independent project management model. Its design management, procurement, construction, and commissioning are all independently carried out by the local subsidiary, offering significant advantages in cost control and schedule management. Since construction began in October 2023, the project has strictly adhered to safety, quality, and environmental management baselines, actively responded to external challenges, and successfully completed phased construction tasks such as design, equipment manufacturing and delivery, and on-site construction on schedule and with high quality. To ensure efficient progress of commissioning, the South Korean subsidiary has coordinated resources, divided responsibilities, and drawn on best practices from relevant projects, successfully introducing low-cost gas from the Yulchon Phase I project for the commissioning of Daesan Phase II, further reducing project costs.

In the next phase, CGN Energy International will continue to strengthen safety and environmental management, steadily advance subsequent key milestones, and ensure the Daesan Phase II project achieves its target of high-quality commercial operation on schedule.
