Recently, the launch event for the CGN Energy International’s Gas Turbine Skills Training Center was held at the EMPP Power Plant Innovation Center in Malaysia, where several strategic cooperation agreements on industry training were signed. This center is Malaysia's first specialized gas turbine skills training center and CGN's first professional gas turbine training base, filling a crucial gap in the Group's global talent development system and supporting CGN's deeper engagement in overseas gas-fired power generation and regional energy cooperation. The event was attended by over 90 people, including Pang Songtao, General Manager of CGN Group; Li Yilun, Deputy General Manager; Zhang Chaoqun, Chairman of CGN Energy International; Fang Likui, Deputy General Manager of the Industrial Development Department of CGN Group; and Zhong Xianjue, Chairman of Edra Power Holdings.

Pang Songtao remarked, "Leveraging its unique advantages of cleanliness, high efficiency, flexible start-stop, fast response, and rapid peak-shaving capability, gas-fired power has become an indispensable part of new power systems and is ushering in unprecedented strategic development opportunities." He also noted that with the rapid growth of the global gas turbine industry and continuous expansion of regional installed capacity, systematic, standardized, and practical talent cultivation and technical empowerment are the core pillars for ensuring the safe, stable, and long-term development of the gas turbine industry.

Malaysia's gas-fired power installed capacity reaches 19 GW, accounting for 50% of the nation's total installed capacity, with considerable room for capacity expansion, while the local shortage of professional gas turbine talent continues to grow. Responding to regional needs, CGN Energy International has been firmly advancing its "Gas Power Leading Plan." Through initiatives such as hosting the Global Gas Turbine Power Generation Summit, establishing a Gas Turbine Power Generation Committee, and identifying five key technology research and development directions, the company is steadily promoting technological iteration and upgrading in the gas turbine industry. To date, the company has secured more than ten patents in the gas turbine field and released the Operation and Maintenance Indicator System for Gas Turbines Under International Two-Part Tariff Power Purchase Agreements, filling a gap in industry standards and exporting a mature "CGN solution" for the global gas turbine industry.

Drawing on its solid experience in the gas power sector and leveraging Malaysia's geographical advantages, the training center adopts the Group's standardized training management model. It has established four working groups, built a faculty from internal experts, and partnered with industry institutions to create a talent cultivation platform. At the same time, it aligns with local energy planning and power safety systems to develop a localized, standardized training and certification platform. Externally, it promotes mutual technical exchange and collaboration within the industry; internally, it coordinates training resources both at home and abroad to enable the sharing of faculty, courses, and qualifications, thereby strengthening the safe operation of units.

At the event, the training center reached cooperation agreements with Malaysia's National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Occupational Safety and Health Association, and a boiler and pressure vessel certification training company. The parties will integrate resources to develop courses, promote safety operation and maintenance standards, and jointly cultivate local energy sector talent.

Looking ahead, CGN Energy International will continue to implement its "Gas Power Leading Plan," using the training center as a key platform to serve Malaysia and radiate across Southeast Asia. It will improve the talent development chain for gas turbine professionals, deepen technical collaboration and innovation, strengthen its overseas gas power foundation, enhance the benchmark for China-Malaysia energy cooperation, and continuously inject momentum into regional energy transformation.
