CGN Energy International Shines at 10th China-South Asia Expo, Advancing Cross-Border Green Energy Connectivity

  • Guided by the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and leveraging Yunnan’s geographical advantage as a hub connecting South and Southeast Asia, CGN Energy International continues to deepen international energy cooperation and steadily expand its global green energy footprint. On June 11, the 10th China-South Asia Expo opened in Kunming, Yunnan Province, under the theme “Unity and Cooperation for Shared Development,” bringing together 68 countries, regions, and international organizations for exchanges and exhibitions. CGN Energy International’sPresident Ouyang Zi and Assistant PresidentWang Tun attended the opening ceremony and related events.

    This year’s Expo, covering the markets of RCEP member states, reached new heights in scale and international participation. A joint booth by CGN Energy International and CGN New Energy made a strong impression, themed “The Yunnan Way of Life – A Partnership of Green Power + Yunnan Quality Products, Zero Carbon, Rural Support, and Global Outreach.” The integrated exhibition zone combined product display, technology demonstration, and immersive experiences, showcasing CGN’s global clean energy portfolio, cross-border cooperation, flagship overseas projects, intelligent O&M technologies, and multiple international accolades – highlighting its solid achievements in Belt and Road energy connectivity.

    During the Expo, government and business delegations from France, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Laos, Senegal, Mauritania, and other countries, as well as leading municipal and provincial officials from Yunnan, visited the booth for in-depth discussions on cooperation opportunities. The booth also featured a rural-support sales area and intangible cultural heritage experience zones, displaying hand-woven crafts from Laos’ “CGN Shimmer Plan,” Lao tea, Malaysian coffee, and other specialty products – linking green energy with community development and demonstrating the company’s social responsibility overseas.

    On the afternoon of June 11, the Yunnan Provincial Government hosted the “Invest in Yunnan” investment promotion conference during the Expo. PresidentOuyang Zi attended the conference to explore new opportunities for industrial collaboration.

    On the afternoon of June 13, the Yunnan Provincial Energy Bureau held a key project signing ceremony at the Green Energy Pavilion of the 10th Expo. CGN Energy Technology (Laos) Co., Ltd. signed a wind turbine equipment supply agreement with Yunda International Energy Holding (Hainan) Co., Ltd. for the second-phase wind power project of the CGN Laos Northern Interconnection Clean Energy Base. As a flagship project under the “China-Laos Friendship Year,” this initiative not only supports Yunnan’s development as a major corridor to the outside world but also facilitates the export of wind power equipment from the province, deepening practical energy cooperation between the two countries.

    On the same day,Sengduene Saiyasone, Executive Vice Chairman of the Lao-China Cooperation Committee, visited the CGN booth and exchanged views on the progress of clean energy projects in Laos. She spoke highly of CGN’s project implementation and its social responsibility performance in the country.
