CGN Energy International’s subsidiaries, Edra and CGN Brazil, have both been awarded the RoSPA Health and Safety Gold Award for 2026 by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), in recognition of their sustained progress in Safety, Health, Environment and Quality(SHEQ) management and their demonstrated achievements in green development. The RoSPA Health and Safety Award ranks among the world’s oldest and most prestigious occupational health and safety honours. The evaluation process for the gold award is notably rigorous, requiring sound accident records, well-established health and safety management systems, and the consistent embedding of safety concepts in routine operations. The 2026 edition marked the 70^th anniversary of the award and attracted over 2,000 participating organisations from more than 60 countries and 34 industry sectors. Edra and CGN Brazil distinguished themselves among the applicants, with Edra securing gold awards for all five of its operating power plants, thereby realising full gold coverage across its Malaysian regional assets.

This international gold recognition is particularly significant as it coincides with the conclusion of CGN Energy International’s “Global Safety Month”. It affirms that CGN’s fundamental principles of “Safety First, Quality First, Pursuit of Excellence” have been deeply integrated into the company’s safety governance framework, and it is fully aligned with this year’s Global Safety Month theme, “Do Every Step Right, Operate More Safely”.

It is noteworthy that CGN Brazil, through effective SHEQ management practices, has consistently maintained ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, achieved “six zeros” in SHEQ performance for seven consecutive years, and received the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Gold Seal from the Brazilian GHG Protocol for seven consecutive years. In 2026, it was also awarded the Brazil National Quality Award, thereby laying a solid foundation for the high-quality development of its new energy business in the country. Edra, meanwhile, has carried out routine full-spectrum risk assessments, closed-loop hazard rectification and tiered safety training; established QSG and QCC quality management systems; and steadily advanced the implementation of the “five modernisations” of its SHEQ digital platform. These efforts have consistently strengthened its safety and quality foundation, ensuring a safe and stable power supply to the Malaysian peninsula.

Going forward, CGN Energy International will continue to refine its SHEQ management system, strictly aligning with local laws, regulations, standards and specifications as well as with CGN’s internal requirements. It will effectively integrate CGN’s SHEQ management practices with host-country regulatory expectations, embed SHEQ management throughout the entire asset lifecycle – encompassing strategic planning, project construction and operations and maintenance – and establish a standardised, normalised and integrated SHEQ operational control model. Through the ongoing integration of safety, quality, compliance and business performance, the company aims to build a robust cornerstone for its sustained, high-quality development in the years ahead.
