  • Recently, the operating room donation project at Muang Sing District Hospital in Luang Namtha Province, implemented by CGN Laos, officially commenced construction after receiving the work commencement permit.

Located in a remote mountainous area of Luang Namtha Province—a region with limited medical resources—the project addresses long-standing challenges such as the lack of surgical facilities and high risks associated with transferring critically ill patients. The newly launched operating room will include general surgery and cesarean section facilities, along with supporting functional areas. Once completed, it will serve the healthcare needs of over 60,000 residents across Muang Sing, Muang Long districts, and surrounding mountainous villages. The project will be executed in two phases: the first focuses on constructing the operating room, while the second involves procuring medical supplies. Upon full completion, it will significantly alleviate resource shortages at the local hospital, providing timely trauma treatment and maternal care for mountain communities while supporting the advancement of CGN Laos’ Phase II Wind-Solar Power Project.

Hospital staff emphasized the project’s urgency: “With poor road conditions in mountainous areas, transferring patients with difficult childbirths or severe injuries to provincial hospitals takes over three hours. Having an operating room here will greatly increase patients’ chances of receiving timely, life-saving care.”

CGN Laos remains committed to its philosophy of “developing projects that benefit local communities.” By integrating corporate social responsibility (CSR), community engagement, and targeted assistance, the company continues to deliver tangible improvements to local lives and strengthen its CSR brand, the "Shimmer Plan", which illuminates sustainable progress in the region.
