  • On the journey toward high-quality development of CGN Energy International’s overseas business, talent stands as the most critical pillar. As the Skills Training Center continues to advance the “Talent First” strategy and strengthen the independent operation and maintenance capacity of overseas gas-power assets, behind every solid training session lies a group of professionals who pass on their experience like sparks. Mr. Abdul Razak Jamin is one of them. He once served as the head of Jimah Power Plant, with an annual power generation capacity of nearly 10 billion kWh, and is also one of only two registered high-voltage electrical operators within Edra Power Holding. Today, he shares his years of hands-on experience and professional expertise as seeds of knowledge with all technical backbones across the company.

Guardian of 10 Billion kWh of Power Output

Mr. Razak’s career has been closely tied to the steady growth of CGNEI’s overseas operations. During his tenure as Plant Manager of Jimah Power Plant, he led his team to achieve an annual power output of nearly 10 billion kWh, making outstanding contributions to the stable annual power supply of CGNEI. He has always adhered to the principle of “Safety First, Quality First, Pursuit of Excellence”. With the rigorous, prudent, meticulous and practical work style, he oversees every operational detail to ensure long-term safe and stable operation of the generating units.

This valuable frontline experience has not only forged his outstanding professional capabilities, but also deepened his understanding that a high-caliber technical team is the core foundation for the operation of overseas power assets.

Professional Commitment Behind the Rare Qualification

Within Edra Power Holding, only two employees hold the qualification of Registered High-Voltage Electrical Operator, and Razak is one of them. Shifting from equipment site work to the training podium, he double-checks every single-line diagram and strives for perfection in every operating procedure. This nearly exacting commitment makes him a well-deserved benchmark for the technical team.

    The Sower of Knowledge

Razak now works in the Operation &Maintenance Department at Edra Power Holding Headquarters. He has transitioned from a Plant Manager leading on-site operations to an instructor dedicated to knowledge transfer. In 2026, he personally developed five training courses and delivered two core courses: Fundamentals of Electrical Machinery and Power Plant Electrical Systems and Low-Voltage Equipment. He integrates real-world cases from Jimah Power Plant with theoretical knowledge, enabling participants to understand not only what to do, but also why.

Cross-disciplinary Collaboration to Cultivate Compound Talents

Razak’s courses break down professional boundaries and attract employees from different technical disciplines across all power plants. Mechanical engineers gain insights into electrical protection logic, and shift operators master key points of emergency power supply switching. One trainee commented: “What Mr. Razak teaches is not just technology, but also an attitude toward equipment and safety.”

From securing stable power output of 10 billion kWh to spreading knowledge and expertise, Razak embodies the integration of CGN’s rigorous, prudent, meticulous and practical work style and the “Talent First” strategy. Looking ahead, more technical experts like Razak will step onto the training podium, providing solid talent support for the high-quality development of CGNEI’s overseas business.
