  • Recently, the winners of the 8th Belt and Road "Stamps from 100 Countries" Short Video Contest, hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association, the News Center of the SASAC and Huanqiu.com, were officially announced. The contest received more than 4,000 entries from over 130 countries and regions worldwide, and over 200 works stood out. Among them, works submitted by CGN Energy International won multiple awards: The Journey of mountains and seas of electricity claimed the Silk Road Pioneer Award in the Enterprise Track; The direction of light won the AI Innovation Award in the AI Track; Another role of French lawyers:connecting the green future with professional value and The Energy Dream of Malaysian’s post-2000s “twin flower” were honored as Outstanding Works.

Rooted in the frontline of overseas clean energy cooperation, these award-winning works feature diverse perspectives and vivid stories.

The Journey of mountains and seas of electricity follows the storyline of “the birth of one kWh, the perseverance of a team, and the transformation of a country”. Through real testimonials from expatriate and local staff as well as local teachers and students, it tells the story of CGN building Southeast Asia’s largest single photovoltaic project in Laos and delivering cross-border power to boost local development, embodying the profound bond of the China-Laos community with a shared future.

The direction of light adapts the true story of CGN’s clean energy project in Laos with AI technology. Centered on a photovoltaic car model, it depicts how CGN resolved misunderstandings and built people-to-people bonds with sincerity and commitment during overseas project development, showcasing CGN’s sense of responsibility and humanistic care in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Another role of French lawyers:connecting the green future with professional value features Tom, a legal professional with an international legal background. When offered an opportunity by EDF EN, he left the arbitration field where he had worked for years and joined CGN. Well-versed in stringent European regulatory frameworks, he has deeply participated in the implementation of Chinese enterprises’ new energy projects across Europe.

The Energy Dream of Malaysian’s post-2000s “twin flower” is set at EMPP, Malaysia’s largest and most efficient gas-fired power plant, which supplies 10%–12% of the nation’s electricity. As a landmark Belt and Road project, it witnesses the delivery of green energy and the growth of young talents. The post-00s Malaysian twins Sofiya and Sara work side by side here, breaking gender barriers with their capabilities and interpreting the concepts of localization and sustainable development.

This honor is both recognition and motivation. Going forward, CGN Energy International will further advance international communication, discover touching stories from overseas projects, innovate communication approaches, and keep telling compelling stories of China’s clean energy going global. It will polish CGN’s international brand and contribute more positive voices to the development of the green Belt and Road Initiative.
